Every fitness app I tried handed me the same plan it handed everyone else. It didn't care how I slept, how I was recovering, how I actually responded to a block — or anything else going on in my training. The programming was generic. The macros were guesses. My coach was flying blind between check-ins because no platform surfaced what was really happening week to week.

I built ProtoComp because coaching should adapt to the athlete, not the other way around. Trackers existed — but they logged. They didn't change the workout. They didn't move the macros. They didn't tell a coach when something drifted. And almost none of them worked for athletes who fall outside the "average natural lifter" box the templates assume.

ProtoComp is opinionated software. We don't think your coach should guess. We don't think your plan should ignore how you're recovering. And we don't think serious software should pretend every athlete is the same.

What we believe

Four positions we don't budge on.

AI LEADS, MATH IS THE FLOOR

The AI is the coach: it builds your programming, sets your macros, interprets your signals, and adapts the plan to you day to day. Underneath it sits a deterministic engine — exact, repeatable math that bounds what the AI can do and keeps working even if the AI is ever unavailable. The intelligence leads; the math is the safety net, not the product.

CITATION OR SILENCE

Guidance is grounded in published research, not invented confidence. Where the evidence is thin, we say so out loud instead of papering over it.

PRIVACY IS NOT OPTIONAL

You can export every byte of your data at any time. You can delete your account and we cascade-delete every row. We don't sell anything to anyone, and we don't train models on your data. Ever.

BUILT FOR EVERY ATHLETE

Natural, enhanced, and everyone in between. We adapt to your training, your recovery, and your goals — and stay aware of the rest of your protocol when that's part of your picture. One template for everyone is exactly the thing we set out to replace.

Who's behind ProtoComp

A small team. Users of the product.

Built solo, then with a small team of athletes, coaches, and engineers who use the product themselves. We don't ship features we wouldn't run on our own training.
